The Simple Path to Wealth

The core is so simple: avoid debt, spend less than 50% of what you earn, invest the rest in VTSAX, retire when your assets are 25x your spending. But the hard part is the mental game of avoiding more complicated, less effective plans. This book gives you lots of mantras to help out, like “investing is boring, get your excitement elsewhere” and “the stock market always goes up in the long run”.
The second half gets more into the weeds and also counters most critisisms you could think of. This book honestly has most of the important information you’re likely to need regarding investing and financial independence.
