Interesting in that it examines a question I’ve always wondered about: why do American nerds like Japan so much? Fun in that it talks about so much pop culture I grew up with. Unsatisfying in that it doesn’t make a very cohesive argument. By the end, I was exposed to many new examples of Japanese culture being exported; I didn’t leave with any new generalizations, narratives or implications. Pretty scattered.
