The writing’s not spectacular (it’s got some cringy moments that clearly the author living out his fantasy) and it’s laced the whole way through with small things that go against my politics (minor sexism, pro-confederacy). But overall it’s a gripping, easy-to-consume depiction of the stages of societal collapse after all electronics are disabled. A real interesting thought experiment and a lesson about general preparedness for any kind of disaster. Essentially: learn skills, stockpile disaster goods, keep close bonds with your neighbors and community.
