The story is long and meandering. Lots of things are left unexplained, and many more are explained with unsatisfactory soft science (e.g. It’s “quantum”)
I wish Simmons had just done a true-to-the source retelling of the Illiad and the Oddessy in a sci-fi setting.
Fun read, but not very satisfying.
