Biggest takeaways: (1) Bikers are the happiest commuters, (2) Social interaction is the single biggest contributor to happiness, (3) We should have more mixed use zoning.
It’s got a good message and is an easy read. But it gets preachy at parts and makes some claims that go beyond the evidence.
It was interesting reading this after reading “Order Without Design” because it put a lot of suggestions in perspective. You can’t just say that downtown should be denser and make it so. But you can build more public transit and allocate more road space for bikes.
